January's Meeting Speakers
This month's speaker will be Paulette Durazzo of The Center of Coastal Studies
The December Meeting
The December meeting commenced with Vice President Randall Sherman leading the club in the Pledge of Allegiance. After that, was a gentle reminder that your annual dues are due NOW!!! Also we need many more donations to the "PLUG BUCKET" this is usually the top earner for the club at the auction during our annual banquet. Speaking of the auction during our annual banquet, if there is some local business you can hit tip for a gift certificate or even if you have one that you can donate, all will be appreciated. We have a couple of tentative dates for some big events... First the Wives and Sweethearts Dinner is planned for June 6th at 5:30 PM and the Annual Fluke Trip will be scheduled for July 16th. Look for the registration forms for both on the website soon! The Cape Cod Salties made some donations last month to some very worthwhile causes. $100.00 to Habitat for Humanity $250.00 to the Cape Cod Times Needy Fund $100.00 for the Center for Coastal Studies Please look into getting a Massachusetts Striped Bass license plate, you can apply on line and the proceeds as you know go to a great cause.
This gets us to the main reason for the December meeting, the elections. Unfortunately there were no nominations for the position of President, leaving that spot open in the sport fishing club and the foundation. For the position of Secretary Adam Lange was nominated and elected, also for the position of Director for a 3 year term Bill Cottle was nominated and elected. Both of these gentlemen will hold these positions in the sport fishing club and the foundation as well. Following the election the board of the Cape Cod Salties Foundation re-elected Randall Sherman as the Chairperson.
